Confession: my computer background has been autumnal tree leaves since mid-summer. As someone who starts yearning for boots and sweater weather in mid-July, I am so excited to welcome to the stage the first day of fall.
What isn’t there to love? Every shade of orange bursts forth from the green leaves like fireworks. There is a smell that lingers in the air, reminding you that a chill is setting in. The sun sets a little earlier and we swap out tank tops for hoodies, sandals for boots, daiquiris for hot cider.
I won’t miss the summer. Not one bit. When that cool air sets in and we say goodbye to 80 degree days, my joy meter rises. Here are just a few of the things an Autumn fan might enjoy doing on this fine day:
