Labor Day in Cincinnati is kind of a big deal. It’s a tradition to head down to the river (van optional) and enjoy a radical fireworks show. Or maybe you avoid the craziness and camp out at one of our nearby parks with a grand view? The weekend is full of fun as kids and parents alike soak in the last blast of the summer.
Whether you head out of town, grab a blanket and go to the park, or just grill out at home, you can take this idea with you. All you need is water and your favorite fruit!
Spring Water Firework Fruit Cubes Recipe
Explosions in the sky call for explosions of flavor in your favorite drink. (See what we did there?) So grab an ice cube tray and get ready.
- Alpine Valley All-Natural Spring Water
- Ice Cube Trays
- Or your favorite fruit!
This is how we do it:
Clean and cut your fruit. Fill the ice cube tray with your fruit pieces, putting a variety of colors in each cube for that firework effect.
Once you are happy with your fruit placement, fill the cubes with water. Remember, the water will expand (science!) so if you fill to the top of the cube, the ice will rise.
Freeze your fruit cubes. When they are frozen you can pop them in water, juice, or your favorite adult beverage. The sky’s the limit when it comes to fireworks.
